April Fools Day! Embellishment on the sleeve.

After catching my Dad out with an april fools joke I strolled in and had a productive day! I decided to focus on my sleeve and do a small sample of embroidery to show that the pleating around the sleeve head and base would not interfeer with the design. I got a little carried away with this and did a little more than I first intended! When I pinned the sleeve onto the armhole I realised that the scale of the embroidery running along the base of the sleeve was slightly too small and is overpowered by the bigger design.
I will make a mental note that maybe drawing the design onto the fabric before sewing would be a good idea!

I then moved onto the strip of embroidery that sits along the neck line and goes over the shoulder and onto the back. I have a strip of calico as a guide and I am hoping to do this over the weekend. I want to do a small sample of the embroidery around the hem as well and I was unsure whether this would work as the fabric is so fine but after talking to Dexter I am going to try a few ways so that a small section of the hem is embroidered.
I am going to try:
-Putting the muslin into an embroidery hoop,
-Using an interfacing to thicken the fabric. Once embroiderd I will then take off the interfacing to leave the ebroidery.

I shall let you know how I get on with the above!

Overall I think I have done well this week although I feel like I am lacking motivation. Even though I have been in everyday I feel as though I could get more done everyday and I need to get a move on so that I do not fall too far behind. Hopefully I will be able to finish my first toille off this weekend and be ready to start my second on monday!
